QUALITY CONTROL
Anderson Seed Company strives to supply its customers with the highest quality product.  Anderson Seed Company tracks the sunflower product through the entire phase of the process.  This begins by using only high quality sunflower seeds available from growers.

After the sunflower seeds have been unloaded at Anderson Seed Company’s facilities, storage is closely monitored.  When the sunflower seeds are ready to be processed, each step is closely monitored by the quality control/risk management department.  These steps include:

Drying of seeds to proper moisture levels;
Cleaning to remove all impurities; and
Sizing of the sunflowers so only the larger sized seeds for bakery kernels are                    separated from the smaller seeds used for other products.

Larger seeds are dehulled which separates the meats from the hulls.  Many steps are required to separate the meats from the hulls and broken pieces.  These steps include aspiration, air screening, gravity, and electric eyes.  The kernels are then packaged according to customer needs.  Every step in this entire process requires close monitoring and diligent record keeping which our quality control/risk management department provides.

Before the final shipment is made, each phase of the process is signed off before loading onto trucks.  Before the finished product can be shipped, the quality control/risk management department is required to sign off on all aspects of the finished product.  This includes the quality of the kernels, the proper bag has been used, the proper labeling of the bag has been done, assurance that bag liners for totes have been used if required, and assurance that seals have been secured to truck doors and container doors when that is required.

The ultimate purpose is to insure that our customer is totally satisfied with his delivered product.
